Cupido und Morpheus sind wirklich meine lieblingsbücher. Und ich habe eine Menge gelesen. Jilliane hoffman ist einfach brilliant. Ich hatte dummerweise die Bücher verliehen und habe sie nie zurück bekommen. Daher habe ich mir sie erneut bestellt weil sie einfach nicht in meiner Sammlung fehlen dürfen 😀 Übrigens kann ich Karin slaugther auch nur weiterempfehlen. Mindestens genau so gut wie jilliane hoffman.

Ich bin normalerweise kein Thriller oder Krimi-Fan, aber das hat sich ganz gut gelesen. Normalerweise fokussieren sich solche Krimis ja eher auf die Polizisten und wie die ihre Ermittlungsarbeit machen, aber hier ist die Hauptperson eine Staatsanwältin und man begleitet sie auch durch den Alltag einer solchen, mitsamt der ganzen Hürden die man in der Gerichtswelt nehmen muss, den Medien, dem Stress und der engen Zusammenarbeit mit den Polizisten. Dieser Aspekt des Buches hat mir sehr gut gefallen, es war echt interessant und es war auch wirklich sehr authentisch geschrieben.Man startet sehr fulminant in die Geschichte und auch der letzte Teil war richtg stark, ich hab das Ende, absolut nicht vorhersehen können, wenngleich ich es schön gefunden hätte, wenn es nicht so aprubt kam. Der Mittelteil war leicht langatmig, da wär ein weniger kurzfristiges Ende auf jeden Fall drin gewesen.Insgesamt war es mir auch eine winzige Kleinigkeit zu klischeehaft - Ich meine ein böser Bub mit Clownsmaske? Halloooo? Gehts noch stereotypischer? Im übrigen, auch wenn ich C.J.s Verhalten bis zu einem gewissen Grad nachvollziehen kann - eine Menge was sie tut ist doch sehr unethisch und das macht die ganze Sache für mich sehr unrund, vor allem wenn man bedenkt, dass die Autorin selber als Staatsanwältni gearbeitet hat.Trotzdem hat mir das Buch besser gefallen, als ich erwartet hätte. Die Reihe würd ich auf jeden Fall weiterlesen :-)

Ich schreibe nicht oft Bewertungen und musste auch lange überlegen, wie ich diese Verfasse. Am liebsten würde ich explizit auf Details engehen, die in mir einfach nur völliges Unverständnis ausgelöst haben, aber ich halte - auch mit vorheriger Warnung - einfach nichts von Spoilern.Ab etwa kurz vor der Mitte des Buches wusste ich wie es ausgehen würde, ich hab es dann auch nur noch zuende gelesen, um mir meine gar nicht undetaillierte Vorstellung vom Ausgang der Geschichte bestätigen zu lassen. Was dann schlussendlich auch geschah. Der Ausgang war einfach unfassbar vorhersehbar, ohne es, wie in manch anderem Krimi, sein zu wollen. Es ist eine Sache von vornherein der allwissende Leser zu sein und schlicht zu verfolgen, wie die Protagonisten ans Ziel kommen. Wenn der Autor/die Autorin diese Absicht jedoch nicht verfolgt, den Leser am Ende überraschen will und dies auf geradezu stümperhafte Art und Weise misslingt, ist dies eine ganz andere Sache. Dann ist nämich die Geschichte an sich misslungen.Ich kann die vielen guten Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen. Ich kann nicht nachvollziehen, wie aus diesem Buch sogar eine "Erfolgsserie" wurde. Vielleicht haben sogar die meisten Leser ähnlich früh den Ausgang zumindest erahnt und statt die Autorin für die misslungene Spannung zu kritisieren sich selbst für ihren Schneid gelobt, es so früh durchschaut zu haben.Nachdem ich fertig war und es eine Weile habe sacken lassen, muss ich sagen, dass ich das Gefühl habe, dass dieses Buch nie für eine Leserschaft geschrieben wurde, sondern für eine Zuschauerschaft. Bedauerlicherweise könnte es dazu durchaus kommen.

Was soll ich sagen... Da denkt man, alles wäre glasklar. Zwischenzeitlich dachte ich schon, es kann doch nicht sein, dass der Fall so schnell gelöst wurde und war auch wahnsinnig enttäuscht. Aus anderen Thrillern weiss man in der Regel, dass alles darauf hinausläuft, irgendwann den Serienkiller zu finden und zu verurteilen. Happy End. Alle sind glücklich. Hier ist Spannung von der ersten bis zur letzten Seite vorprogrammiert. Man fühlt mit der Protagonistin mit, auch wenn man sich manchmal wünscht, sie wäre nicht so unglaublich stur. Die Wendung im Fall ist absolut nicht zu erahnen und genau das macht das Buch so lesenswert.

The first part of the book discusses Ludwig von Mises’s and Friedrich August von Hayek’s ideas on banking and monetary policy from both historical and economic standpoints. It includes contributions on Austrian monetary dynamics and micro-foundational business cycle theory, von Mises’s concepts of liquidity and solvency of fractional-reserve banks, and liberalism of Austrian economics. The second part analyzes the measures taken by the European Central Bank (ECB) in light of the ideas of von Mises and Hayek. It includes contributions on non-neutrality of money, ECB monetary policy, and the future of the ECB. The third and final part presents discussions on monetary reforms, including contributions on Bitcoins, Cryptocurrencies and anti-deflationist Paranoia.

Annette Godart-van der Kroon (lic.jur) is the President Ludwig von Mises Institute – Europe and under her guidance, the Institute has organized a multitude of successful conferences and dinner debates since its establishment in 2002. LVMI – Europe has a Board of Directors composed of prominent economists, politicians and thinkers originating from Europe and beyond. She also possesses long-term experience as a civil affairs lawyer at the Courts of Roermond and Utrecht in the Netherlands. In 1996, she became a member of the Mont Pélerin Society, an influential society composed of Nobel Prize winning economists and other leading scholars. She is an author of several books and she presented many articles at Universities such as the University of Athens, Erfurt, Maastricht, Heilbronn, Lviv and others.Patrik Vonlanthen is founder and president of the Swiss Mises Institute. Patrik works as a senior project leader and consultant. As president of the Swiss Mises Institute he passionately promotes the core principles liberty, property and peace.
